Privacy Policy – Positively Pregnant App

ACCEPTANCE

This privacy policy covers how WaikatoLink Limited treats personal information that it collects and receives on the Positively Pregnant App (“the App”) or through our services. We use information shared with us for the sole purpose of running and improving our services. This policy tells you what information we collect, steps we take to protect and secure it, how we use and share information, and finally, how you can contact us with questions or concerns.

By accessing or using the App you agree to be bound by this privacy policy. If you do not agree to be bound by this privacy policy then you should stop accessing and using the App.

Any reference to “we”, “our” or “us” in this privacy policy means WaikatoLink Limited, which is a wholly-owned subsidiary of the University of Waikato.

WHAT INFORMATION DO WE COLLECT?

When you use the App you can choose to upload non-identifying data stored in the App weekly, fortnightly, monthly or not at all. You will be asked to confirm each time the App is scheduled to upload the data. If you do upload the data, we will be able to link uploads from the same phone so we can join them together but the uploaded data will not include your name or other names in the App, photographs or information you write into modules such as Notes to Self or Notes to Baby. The data that is uploaded will be used by the Positively Pregnant team, led by Carrie Cornsweet Barber (carrie.barber@waikato.ac.nz) to improve the App and may contribute to publications about the App or about experiences of pregnancy.

We will only hold personally identifiable information about you if you e-mail us to telephone us for any reason and we have no way to link that information to the non-identifying data that you may have uploaded from the App.

WHAT DO WE DO WITH PERSONALLY IDENTIFIABLE INFORMATION

We collect personally identifiable information in order to provide the best possible service to you as a customer of, or party interested in, Positively Pregnant.

THIRD PARTIES

We do not sell, rent, supply, give up or lease out any user or customer information to any third parties. We will only disclose information about you or your use of the App and/or services without your prior permission if we have a belief in good faith that such action is necessary to:

  1. Conform to legal requirements (including, but not limited to, requirements in accordance with any applicable law, regulation or government request) or comply with legal process, or to help maintain the law
  2. Protect our rights or property or those of our related companies
  3. Act to protect the interests of our, or our related companies, customers or personnel
